Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You probably should have asked this question in the Farming & Forestry section rather than smallholding. If you use the search function you will find some answered questions similar to yours.

I agree, for the first calf anyway. You would get some nice calves using BB on a hereford from then on I think.

I don't really get straws from dovea specifically so I can't really pick out a suitable bull. Although, I believe I heard someone mentioning RDF (Roundhill Dara) recently and looking at the dovea website now, he is noted for easy calving,

I have used UBN over past four years on primarily charolais heifers.
When I started to use him, his calving difficulty % was 6.5%. Now when I look at his figures, he has gone over 9%.

However, my actual experience is that, I have not once had to help with the calving. Not once. Small calves every time, but super stock at maturity.
In fact, I have two UBN heifers kept on and due to calve next month.

I have also used CWI. No problems.
And I used simmental DRU, on a few heifers last year. Due next month also.
