C'mon have a guess. Can anyone hazard an educated guess? I'm gonna go with somewhere around 5,000

That's incredible, though certain aircraft don't have the transmitter, and it needs to be near a receiver for the data to be collected. Still though, it's stuff like this that makes the internet awesome :P

Well what I did was a scaled down study. I took one metre cubed of area over my house . I found their was no planes flying.

This was very lucky because I had no Idea of the area of the sky measurement. But knowing anything multiplied by zero was zero, I could say that at any given time there was zero planes flying in the sky.

I didn't like flying before this thread. Now I dislike it even more. Pretty freaky how many planes are ove the Europe :eek:

The chances of a mid air collision are nil (except on take of and landing) though, it's not like how many cars are on the road because you have to account for altitude.

EDIT: Scratch that just saw Europe on the map, they're all gonna die. That's too closely packed! :pac:
