TVWorks Speaker - adaptor

I need to get a new power adaptor for a CambridgeSoundworks speaker. It is meant to sit on top of a CRT TV. I don't have the old one, all I can go on is what is printed on the back of the speaker: 12-14 DC I tried a generic multi one for 20 euro from Peats but it didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.
