My wife is going to a conference in Queens university on the 20th/21st and i'm tagging along for company and to enjoy a short break in Belfast and want to know from the locals if theres anything on in the city those nights.

We've booked into the Radisonblu hotel and will be arriving early on friday the 20th, as yet i don't know when she will be presenting at the conference but it should be during the day on either fri or sat and want to check out the best places to go and if theres anything on (to work around that).

I've never been to Belfast before and will probably try do a black cab tour of the interesting spots, i presume she'd like to fit in some shopping, really what we want to know about is wheres good at night?

We're in our early 30's and 10 years ago would have been at techno or house nights and still love to dance but are getting a tad old for grimey sweaty dance clubs filled with 17 year olds off their face. Can anyone recommend a decent club or pub, or is there a good comedy club in the city that night?

also wheres good to eat? can anyone recommend a decent restaurant near enought to the radissonblu? generally we're into steak and seafood or italian places but anything someone can recommend would be investigated.

Talks to anyone who can help, its much appreciated.

At the Odyssey Arena on the Friday you have New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys :)....the Saturday night you have Patrick Kielty doing comedy.
At the Waterfront Hall you have Ryan Adams on the Friday night.
At the Grand Opera House you have Chronicles of Long Kesh...probably a show more suit to people from Northern Ireland as we'd understand the jokes and history a bit more.
Drinking wise you could try the Cathedral Quarter...it is the kinda new socialising area for Belfast...has bars like The Northern Whig, Duke of York, Ollies. Your age group wouldn't look out of place.
I don't do that area myself...I'm more used to the University area...but it can be youngish there.
Take a black taxi tour...but there are also city bus sightseeing tours as well.
