Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tenancy in common, avoiding care costs

    Heres the situation:
Married ederly couple. Own house with "Tenancy in common" 50/50.
    House value £200,000.
Husband has will leaving his half to Joe Blogs.
Wife has will leaving her half to son and daughter (only two children In family).

Husband dies and immeadiately wife goes into nursing home.
House is sold. Joe Blogs gets £100,000 (as per husbands will).
Wife has £100,000 deposited in her bank account.

Question. Does wife have to pay care home fees or is she exempt because she originally had a "tenancy in common".

I say she has to pay because she has the money. A friend says she does not.

    Thank for reading.
