The post match press conference by the owner seemed to indicate a title shot in May in Los Vegas.

    *Edit*

If I remember correctly, he also indicated that a full 90k Croke Park would make less money than a Los Vegas fight due to logistics and other factors (he didn't elaborate). He also said other takings (PPV I guess) are generally down 25 - 30% when they are held outside the USA.

The fertitas own the casino all vegas ppvs are at, they get all money spent in the hotels as well dont have to pay to rent the venue etc

raze_them_all_ is on the money there. Also Ireland is just really expensive to business in with all the taxes and levies. UFC shipping their Video screens over and getting them through Dublin Port would cost a bomb.

Doubt it. Siver was in trouble if they were stood back up, and a fair few people reckon McGregor was looking tired too.
He was calm throughout and hardly pushed himself. He had energy for rounds and rounds at that pace.

    Pretty sure that's not correct.
They own Stations Casinos, which are smaller casinos on near ranches station towns around Nevada, not in Vegas or on the Main strip.

The Vegas events are usually held in the MGM or Mandalay Bay (owned by MGM too). Don't think Fertitta have ownership there.

    Edit
It's in Vegas because PPV is worth so much more than gate receipts. Even with record capacity.

I agree with you. Like I said to the Proffessy, I didn't see evidence of it myself. :) Some clowns on other parts of the internet were pushing that angle on Monday morning. Maybe I shouldn't have given it extra attention here.

With the way UFC has been going lately (Punk, Cro Cop and Rampage) I nearly expected Zlatan Ibrahimovic to KO Henderson with a head kick after his fight

I never liked the idea of that matchup last night. They're 2 guys I wanted to see fight Bones in the next few months so couldn't see the advantage of them fighting eachother. It automatically eliminates the other from the title seen for the forseeable and there's not enough legitimate threats for Bones to be doing that. Both should have been fed opponents until there respective shots. Davis vs Gus would have made more sense in my mind. Gus looking for revenge from there first encounter 5 years ago and getting his Bones rematch if he won. Then feed someone to Rumble and he gets the winner of Bones Gus. Anyways made a few quid on Rumble so can't complain.

Johnson was a horrible opponent for him tbf, the UFC never gave the likes of Bisping a dangerous opponent when he fought in the UK. Nobody at 205lbs wanted that fight. Crazy to think of the years he wasted at 170. Surely next in line for Jones now.
Thought Mousasi was going to finish Hendo as well despite the early stoppage

Just noticed that 3E are showing the Stockholm show with Guftafson right now. Is this a new thing or had they been showing Fight Night shows since the Dublin show last year?

Comment: 'The Notorious' asked us to admire Conor McGregor while neglecting to explain why he is worthy of hero worship

How would he respond to the charge that MMA wasn't really a sport at all – merely a sinew-popping circus comparable to WWE Wrestling?

"A look echoed by his dad, done up like a waiter at a mid-range restaurant for a barbecue in McGregor's honor".
    :pac: :pac: :pac:
Never even mentioned he read his speech on the back of an ESB envelope. Like yer dad would

Hmmm will be interested to see how this is handled compared to the cackily handled Jon Jones failure.
Nobody is shocked at Diaz tbh i`d be more shocked if it was clean of marijuana but Silva......

He's done nothing that would be par of the course in the WWE.

Wanderlei Silva has apparently been invited to Wrestlemania too but I can't fathom why unless WWE want to put controversial UFC guys who can't fight on their TV. Silva has minimal English and looks like an industrial machine was dropped on his face.

WWE always felt UFC stole their fans (or rather their PPV buys) with Lesnar.
and possibly feel it'll happen again with Punk.

Sonnen and W.Silva have both left the UFC, and prehaps the WWE feels they can recoup some buys by staging something.

As much as I want to see Chael in WWE, I dont want to see him in the ring.

Wanderlei is a fan afaik. He was at WK9 this year aswell.

Even the MMA fighters that WWE use are past it :o
I think its just an invite to the HOF but still meh

My dislike for him really came on properly in the last while, probably after the second Silva fight. I know it's an act and all but he gets rammed down your throat as a wrestling fan in a Jim Cornette way that puts a lot of people off. His gimmick worked really well for the first Silva fight, came back from the drugs suspension, lost to Silva again and was embarrassed in the nicest possible way by Silva after that fight. That should have been the last we heard of him.

McGregor has robbed that position now tbh and Anderson nicked the you ****ing idiot drug suspension gimmick

Nick Diaz is still cool tho
