I've just downloaded BearShare but im having second thoughts after hearing bad things about it online :o. I've tried to uninstall it but it keeps telling me:

"BearShare is running now or is in memory.
Please close it and click OK to to continue uninstall, or cancel to abort uninstallation."

I have checked and it's not running in the background. I dont know what I'm doing wrong? I really don't want to downlaod an uninstalling program. Should I not just be able to uninstall BearShare without this hassle?

    Thanks in advance.

    Uninstall it in safe mode

I've tried that and I think it's worked but in "all programs" it still remains but without the logo, just something that looks like a typical default windows logo. What does this mean?

Probably means the uninstall didn't remove the entry from the programmes list. The fact that the logo has changed means it can no longer find the logo.

Click on it and you should get a message saying the programme is no longer in the location and do you want to browse for it yourself.

If it does then it has been removed and you can remove it from the programme list by right clicking on it and choosing delete.
