    Not sure if this can go here

    My query is when I autocalibrate my amp Sony da1200es no sound comes through my subwoofer (sony 835SA VE speaker and subwoofer set). The power light is on the subwoofer but as I say no sound comes through. When I save the setup it says that there is no sub woofer. My question; Is the sub woofer broken. Is there any tests that i can do to see if it is working.

    Regards

    @marley1,

    Welcome to the RS forum - please take a moment to read the Charter for this forum here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055564744

    If you bought the equipment from Richersounds and you are asking them about a solution to your problem, then this is the place to ask. Even if you didn't buy it from them, one of the RS guys might be able to point you in the right direction - this thread with advice on a similar problem recently might help http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=76225763 .

    If you're looking for advice from Boardies in general, feel free to post your query over in the Home Entertainment forums on Boards here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=863.

    @All,
    Please leave this query for RS to deal with.

    Ritz.

    Hi Marley,

    Thanks for getting in touch and apologies about the delay in getting back to you.

    Am I right in saying it's a powered subwoofer? Has it's own power supply. Can't find an awful lot of info online tbh.

    You could try the tap test. Take the lead from your sub that would plug in to the amp. Power up the sub and just gently tap the end of the cable with your finger. See if you get any output then.
