Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm not too bad, I do a clear out of crap a few times a year. But i have relatives who are terrible for hoarding stuff, old catalogues, newspapers, clothes that Will never be worn again, books that Will never be read, Fúcking schoolbooks that are out of date, televisions and radios that Dont work. Throw them out for fùck sake.

    Salt sachets in the car.

Comes in handy for a sneaky bag of chips with not enough salt on them.

I go for sugar. When I get tea for family members in petrol stations, they always moan about not having enough sugar, so I just open the glove box, and hey presto! I even have a spoon in there for stirring.

    Video games.

If I see one for cheap, even for consoles I don't have (which isn't alot these days) I have to pick it up. It's a sickness. A hugely entertaining sickness.

Haven't even had time to get past the first level of half of them. But the day I break a leg, I know I won't be bored :D

That's just common sense, the old penny jar is a great yolk.

I try not to hoard anything any more. I have my house down to the bare minimum, I've stopped buying junk only necessities come into this house now. The only real hoarding I've done is beer bottle tops for a project. I have hundreds of different ones now.

I adore those who hoard fords beside a fjords, as long as its above board and they aren't Al Gore whose voice tends to bore.

Birthday cards. I've all my birthday cards since my 5th birthday (I'm now 31).

Stuff I don't know how to recycle. I'm a recycling obsessive and there's stuff I refuse to throw out but still can't figure out which container they go into. I will not be defeated!

If I could hoard an unexplored fjord I would be altogether floored.

Around how many bottles? I'd say use what you got hoarded, and once they're gone, stock up when they are on special offer again :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

    I guess I hoard video games :o
I still have all the consoles me and my brothers grew up playing. All the way to the consoles and games I personally bought.

Talking about nes, snes, megadrive, n64, dreamcast, gameboy, ps1, xbox, ps2, ps2, xbox 360, gamecube, atari 2600, wii, ds, psp .... all the consoles and a lot of games for each.

Stuff must be worth a grand or two if I sold on.

Clothes- I go through my wardrobe every so often and see clothes that dont even fit but I say to myself ah sure ill wear them painting or something, which has led to my wardrobe being full, I also never paint :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,030 ✭✭✭✭Chuck Stone

    Useful sticks for stirring paint.

A few years back one of the brothers wrote 'do not throw out these useful sticks' on the shed wall next to them.

I would love to be able to say "money" but tbh it's things like various data cables, routers and similar.
"Sure, I never know when I'll need that 10yo router again" I think to myself as I put it in the box with 6 others...

Exploring an unexplored fjord in a ford whilst carrying hoardings that you've hoarded because you're bored with hoarding boards would open up the door to hoard pictures of gored fjord fisherman

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,059 ✭✭✭Sindri

STD's, magazines (of an explicit nature), beer cans and bottles and all the useless shite that men apparently need in case of an apocalyptic catastrophe (my Father's car shack is full of absolute shite, he take stuff out of skips and once he found 2 battered word working tables abandoned by a school in a ditch. He brought them home and gave one to a friend).

A pile of bank ,credit card , utility bills and personell stuff but I bought a new paper sheddder today so that's them all fcuked off ....oh the joy of shredding stuff :pac:

I have a couple of hundred old music magazines like Mojo ,same amount of cds and cassettes (I've downsized since mp3 came along ) ,some books and other mementoes but nothing that would put me in the classic hoarder bracket .My shed which apart from holding the usual garden equipment/ tools etc is also used as a recyling depot for anything that may be of use in near future but very little junk .

    I'm in the states.

I have a lot of guns and ammunition, my wife claims I'm a horder.

Books, manga, Bizarre and Empire magazines, DVDs and USB cables. I've got a few OCD tendencies when it comes to hoarding but at least nowadays you can still see the floor in my bedroom.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,194 ✭✭✭saa

Most of it is less for some psychological protection and more so out of laziness, bills and letters I have loads of em but never any useful ones and little bits, stamps, buttons, a wrapped up
Japanese dog biscuit which I kept from a house party in 2004 because I was nearly fooled into eating it so I caused a distraction, put in my pocket and years later found it in a coat I never wore but kept anyway. :pac:

My lack of storage space stops me from accumulating too much!
