I have opted to send in a written postal application and no where on it can I see a CAO number or information on how to obtain one yet despite this some of the thrid level institutions I am applying to are asking for it.

Will I be sent a number in the post after applying, or do I need to register online for a number even though I am applying by post?

    Thanks.

The CAO give you the number after you apply, but isn't it too late to apply by post now? You have to have you application and your courses into them and processed by 5.15pm on Wednesday.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

No it's not too late. I was onto them last week and they said I can send it Tuesday once I get a receipt for the postage. The lady said I need not send it by registered post but I am going to just to be safe.
