There's a rusty old hulk tied up alongside the quay in Westport, down by the derelict warehouse. It looks to have been partially scrapped, but it's still afloat.

What about the SS Creteboom at the Quay in Ballina. It's an old concrete ship best accessed through Belleek Woods.

maybe not as initially striking as the others posted, but theres a lovely sad wee red rowboat in the estuary at Barnatrá here in erris. because it's a boggy estuary it looks like it's being swallowed up into the land, iykwim. there's probably a few more round here once you go onto the mullet peninsula.

there also used to be one as you drive along the road towards Rosses Point in sligo - on the left opposite where the shop is. is that still there i wonder?

I hope you don't run out of boats!

Makes for a smashing project all the same. Best of luck with it.

Don't know if your ever near Sligo, but there is a very unusual boat scrapped on the shores of lough arrow, half way between Sligo and Boyle on the main Dublin road. It was originally built to move cattle between the islands on the lake, something like a giant cattle crush that floats. Don't think it ever got much use before it was decomissioned. Let me know if its an area you might go to and I will ask the relations the exact way to get to it. Its on the Northern Shore, just back from Ballindoon Abbey as you go towards the now closed up Rock House Hotel
