Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was up there for the weekend. Some very good Judo on show.

Ger Turner's Uchi Mata (for ippon) in the 81kg semi-final versus Dillon Manning was spectacular. Definitely throw of the day. Inoue would be pushed to beat it! Ger displayed some very good groundwork technique in several matches also.

It was nice to see the referees leave players work on the ground when progress was being made.

Ger turner beat our lad in the final of the 81kg category and our lad Markus is a monster so good win he hadn't lost a fight all day till then winning all by ippon. Our other fighter on the day beat everybody to win the 73 category beating a few full time competitors on the was throwing lloyd manning in ten seconds in the final. There was some questions on this site two years ago about the standard we had in athlone but with our recent results at Irish open, Irish closed, and ni open last year hopefully we have answered. Things are also looking up with the underage set up in the club. Athlone are here to stay ;)
