Dublin Regions- Where is the border?

Ok I asked this before of a regional forum mod and was basically told that other users that had asked similiar questions didn't last long on boards.... Obviously thought I was making trouble but it was a genuine question because frankly I am confused at times by threads posted about the same area but in two different Dublin forums. The below I consider NCD forum threads but remained in the Dublin City Forum for discussion. Howth appears in the NCD forum often as does Malahide. Some examples:

Discussion on Starbucks in Sutton in the Dublin City Forum
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056485831

Discussion on Travel in Howth and Malahide in the Dublin City Forum
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=76544214

Discussion on finding relatives in Howth in the Dublin City Forum
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=59297302

So is there any boards map of dublin thats shows the border between each region of Dublin or a list of areas of what each Dublin forum covers that can be included in the individual forum charters as this might clarify it for posters and mods?

Those are borderline, so I wouldn't fuss too much.

The pink line on this map is mostly accurate: http://maps.google.ie/maps?q=dublin+city&hl=en&sll=53.401034,-8.307638&sspn=6.396334,21.643066&hnear=Dublin,+County+Dublin&t=m&z=11

The border is Kilbarrack Road from the sea to Howth Junction, north long the railway to Mayne River and then west along the river to the M1-M50 junction.

Actual boundary on the front cover of this: http://www.dublincity.ie/YourCouncil/CouncilPublications/Documents/Draft%20Scheme%202009.pdf

But that's not the way we've applied it in Dublin County North Victor. Basically if it's got a postal district we've treated it as Dublin City (or Dublin 15), and moved it accordingly. Hence Howth and Sutton threads in DCN would normally be moved as they are in D13, Malahide threads would stay (and this reflects largely where our "audience" are based).

I had understood from the Hill Billy that this debate had been had some time ago, and these were the conclusions reached as to where we would apply the boundaries. Off coure many threads will cross over and we will not move it if it has a real relevance to DCN

If there are threads about Malahide, Portmarnock or Howth in Dublin City, I wouldn't move them tbh, anything further North, or more inland, is probably getting moved.

Swords, Lusk, Rush, Skerries, Balbriggan, Naul and the likes, defintely North County.

Sutton is definitely Dublin City, but I wouldn't lose sleep about a Howth, Malahide or Portmarnock thread being in North County rather than Dublin City.

I suppose it's personal bias really, being from Coolock my childhood is linked to Howth, Malahide and Portmarnock as being close enough to home to count as "Dublin", the others mentioned above not so much.

People in Lusk, Rush, Skerries and Balbriggan, and non-blow ins in Swords have a fairly distinctive North County accent, getting stronger the close to Balbriggan you get.

Howth, Malahide and Portmarnock not so much.

I wouldn't be too concerned about having rigid boundaries. A bit of blurring and mixing shouldn't do any harm. Being in Howth, I'd regard us a more suited to DC but stuff in DCN is fine. That's based on the vague notion on where do the green fields start. Now and again a thread is more suited to the other area and both sets of mods move as and when it makes sense. Status quo is fine imho.

Besides if criteria were to be strictly applied Howth would be in DCEast:p

Malahide and Portmarnock are most definitely NCD, regardless of the affected Molohoide/Porshmarnock accents.
