I reckon he'd jack it all in for a role in Fair City.

That competition winner would have been a more interesting interview than half of that sh*te tonight.

It's a pity that Vincent Browne canned his Friday night show. We could all hop over to that thread to continue the laugh. It was great when it was on, especially Jedward and David McSavage (a man you'll never see on the Late Late agan)

Outrageous Fortune, Mrs D. One of those Bette Midler films from the 1980's when you were only a little chisler. ;)
I saw it on video years ago but I remember very little about it. I thought I better put this in a spoiler just in case!

I see some big names are in Dublin over the next few weeks

    http://www.jdiff.com/
Highlights of the 2012 programme were revealed on the night, with special guests confirmed to attend the Festival in February including Al Pacino (Wilde Salomé), Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), Mark Wahlberg (Contraband), Martin Sheen (Stella Days), Michael Madsen (Jameson Cult Film Club screening of Reservoir Dogs)

Any chance of the LLS getting some of them to appear?

Or have they already pre-booked every Dancing on Ice Contestant from now until the Summer?

Yes, but there are people who already have children with DS who would love to expand their families but are afraid, this screening could be very good for them.

Its a tough one but then if for example my wife and myself were CF gene carriers, and were offered the chance to get rid of cf from our blood line, I would take it. There is a randomness in whether an embryo will actually get to term in any case regardless of genetic profiling.

I absolutely agree with both. I really do. If I had a simple choice to save my child from the difficulties given by DS I would tick that box. My partner on the otherhand is quite religious who I guess would argue for Gods role in it all. As debates go, I do think it could properly kick off, and be a less dull show. LLS did used to be controversial, in a good way.

We were lucky to have a little boy after losing a baby at 20 weeks into the pregnancy. I wanted to go again but my wife, being the sensible one, didn't want to take the risk at her age. Perhaps if this had been available years ago, we might have considered it. I don't believe we would have the energy to cope, having thought about the consequences of something going wrong.

    Interesting topic about reproduction.
Personally I'd be on the side of the scientists and I'd let the Taliban catholic church/pro life brigade do what they like.
However the religious want to put their nose in other people's business constantly.
Put your nose in my business and you'll get the smack you deserve

Oh definitely Mrs D!! I'd put Beaches in "The Champ" category of films that are good, but you definitely don't want to be watching too often if you want to stay any way happy. ;)

Is it true that they are entering the same song with Colm Hayes lyrics and calling it "Put Your Green Cape On"..

The Late Late in it's current format needs to be scrapped. It's still working off the same format that was created in the 1960's.

We have the Frontline and Prime Time for all the serious nonsense. Friday nights now really should be left for light entertainment. There is so much talent in Ireland to make a success of the Late Late if RTE just put some thought into it.

I agree with his. I think Tubbs was much better when he did his Saturday night show as he looked far more comfortable in that role. Okay, he stole quite a bit from Letterman and Leno but it definitely worked for him. I think Gay Byrne was the only person who could seamlessly move from light to heavy subjects and back to light again. Pat Kenny couldn't do it and I don't think Tubbs can really do it either.

Tonight's discussion about IVF seemed to be clunkily wedged into the middle of the show, and was completely out of place with the rest of the content, and it could've been done far better on Frontline where a real discussion could have been entered into about the difficulties that couples face and the ethics about new developments in that whole area. I think it's probably about time that Tubbs realised that most people want to be entertained on a Friday night and not become embroiled and bogged down in very serious discussions which would be better served through other current affairs programmes.

Corey Feldman must feel quite short changed, given how long this discussion is.
Would have been a better interview without Tubridy's interrupting every 30 seconds.

My internets broke last night :(

Simon Delaney needs to lose some serious weight off his chin and neck.
Other than looking at that, I enjoyed the interview.

Looking at that list of entrants there is only one obvious winner in Eurosong 2012!
That's Joe McCaul who somehow managed to dodge the bullet!
