If we beat Wales tommorrow, we have to win the Triple Crown! Both these teams are ****e.

We won't beat wales. Don't know where this cocky stuff is coming from. Wales are streets ahead of us. We are a one gameplay team

Evans and Denton were the only players to really do much in that half, and not that much at that.

Actually Gray got a couple of line-out steals as well.

Andy farrells son !!! Wtf!!!! Sure Andy would still nearly be good enough. How long is he retired?

Think on pre match interview on BBC they said he's 36 and has a new 7 month old son.

I do agree with you but it has gone downhill since Michael Ryan has retired

Scotland as one dimensional and limited as ever, England just... well, awful. Why can't we be playing them this or next week the big worry is that they can only improve.

Wales, especially with all their injuries in the pack are far away from being streets ahead of us.

We do need to not play into their hands like in the wc though.

Edit: the quote you were replying to say if we beat Wales, so it wasn't all that cocky to begin with anyway.

Jebus I hope you are wrong, if we lose to Wales tomorrow it'll be a nightmare in Paris. I'm hopeful that we'll win but it'll be very tight.

    Oh WTF?!

More excitement in 30 secs than the entire first half at least!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,225 ✭✭✭mar-z

A mistake like that really was the only way one of these teams were going to score here.

Not a hope . Better 7. Better out half. Better back line. We have a journey man at 12 and we always start crap first game

Yeah we've had a lot of starting games against Italy that have helped. I'm the eternal optimist Nick still going to pick us ;)

Better 7? Yes, if you are talking in terms of a 'classic' 7 type

Better outhalf? At best debatable, personally I disagree.

Better back line? possibly but I wouldn't say by that much. They utise their backs better though.

Darcy was poor last year, been better for Leinster this year. Journey man is harsh to the extreme, I would have liked to see McFadden start.

Anyway, while we mightn't win I don't agree with you. But I have a feeling I wont change your mind so I'll leave you to it.

Look up the definition of journeyman.

The guy is a troll when it comes to sports, he's a regular in the cycling forum when it comes to contentious subjects but is never around for regular daily topics.

Regarding airways starting crap, how many years in a row now have we won our first game Nick ?

Should have gone wide much earlier - Denton playing very well for Scotland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,176 ✭✭✭Jess16

First cohesive phase Scotland have had in 40 minutes. Faster offloads and more pace on the ball and they'd find themselves with a lot more territory and the elusive try they don't seem to be chasing.

I know. I meant at first centre. But I can see the logic and am happy enough with Darcy there.

  • Parks is an utterly useless version of O'Gara. Offers no threat inside and allows the backline to defend 10m further from the breakdown.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

Better half so far... both teams upping the pace, Scotland gaining a nice bit of momentum and spring to their step.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,176 ✭✭✭Jess16

Turned over again, with minimal effort

What a tackle by Denton - try saving tackle!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Denton did excellent there.

Denton is a beast and he's only 21!
    22 tomorrow.
    Some tackle

Evans has been decent too. I know England are winning but I can't think of any of their players that have been better than average. Maybe their front row.

O'Gara similarly offers zero threat inside, but at least his kicking game is spot on, and he doesnt absolutely destroy the ball pace for his backline.

Parks is just terrible at all of those things
