hotmail contact list virus

    hi lads
    im not very computer savvy so please be gentle with me

    for the last 2 days,my hotmail account is sending spam emails to all on my contact list
    any ideas how to stop this?
    i have microsoft security essentials as my computer protection
    i have changed my password and security question now and deleted all(not many) contacts

    if you can,please help me

    changing my hotmail password seems to have done the trick
