Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Never seen her on MTV tbh.

Just seen her flicking on the TV and thought 'who's this then with the Irish accent'?

To be fair, she was just a presenter being fed those cheesy lines, hardly her fault.

    Good call anyway.

    Gemma Hayes or Lisa Hannigan.

They're both good looking, intelligent and talented

I'd take Cara Dillon over either of those.

Though she's from Derry, which I suppose some people mightn't count as being Irish...

Katie Taylor, I usually find achievement of some sort to be the most attractive trait in a woman.

Am I the only one getting fed up hearing that name?!

What has she actually done? Does she just 'look good'? Has she actually accomplished anything?

Yea she just looks good, but at the end of the day accomplishments, talent, work ethic is equally just a matter of being lucky to be born with those traits. This thread is about the most attractive person in Ireland by the way, not person with greatest accomplishments.

Attractiveness isn't just about good looks though surely?I mean there are plenty of good looking women I've met over the years who were so annoying, stupid, arrogant etc that I wasn't attracted to them.

Strangely enough, I wouldn't say any celebrities. When Irish women become celebrities, they tend to ruin their good looks with fake tan and wash away their hair colour with Hydrogen peroxide. An exception, I suppose, is Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin.

You see some really cracking Irish women just walking down the main street in any town or city. Irish women who take care of their looks tend to have quite beautiful, immaculate skin (a product of our mild weather) and very soft, attractive features.

The most beautiful Irish girls I know are two neighbours of mine; they have very striking dark hair, skin that is olive and clear, and they don't dye their hair or speak with the mid Atlantic twang that you sometimes come across, but with their own, beautiful, rural Tipperary accents. They are the ultimate cailíní, and so natural, and that's the kind of Irish girl I think must have inspired Kavanagh, and Austin Clarke, and Yeats when he wrote of The Countess Kathleen "...that great white lily of the world, more beautiful than the pale stars". I think a lot of Irish women don't realise the extent of their own natural beauty, and think they can enlarge their attractive qualities by impersonating crude, orange glowing, LA porn stars, which I think is a bit unfortunate.

Are we talking looks or personality or a combination or what ?

Of everyone mentioned so far, I'd second Gemma Hayes, but then the problem is that Ireland's most attractive person might not even be famous.

Not doubting that these ladies you speak of are beautiful, but how do you know that they do not dye their hair. Most women I know be they blonde, brunette or red head dye their hair, could be highlights, full colour etc. It may be a common male misconception but just because its not peroxide blonde doesnt mean it hasnt had a little help from the hairdresser. Perhaps you are a stalker and have defininative proof.:p

If Jenifer Aniston was voted the worlds best looking woman there is hope for anyone  In my book she is fairly plain looking or common looking. I have seen a lot better looking women than her walking through my local town.

    Is that you Angelina?

True; maybe they do dye their hair, but if they do they dye it a pretty similar colour to what it was when we were all kids.

The point is not necessarily that it is natural, but that it looks natural. Think Sile Seoighe: she might dye her hair and wear make up, but she does it in a way that compliments her natural beauty, and doesn't detract from it. And I think that's a really attractive quality that you might, generally, be more likely to see amongst non-celebrities, and therefore they may not be the best group from which to derive "Ireland's most attractive person". I know I've seen more female hotties in KYN than amongst the pool of Irish "celebrities".

Angeline Ball. She's 42 now I'd still give her a length of my trumpet.

I was going to say her. Sinead O'Connor back in the must've been the most beautiful woman on the planet but today, Gemma Hayes for beauty and Angeline for sexiness. And also another Commitments star and talented singer, Maria Doyle Kennedy. I wanna be like her when I grow up (a bit more).

Besides from Michael Fassbender (yep,I know not technically Irish), I'd say Daniel Day Lewis: although not Irish by blood, he has Irish citizenship. Most handsome man alive. And I do think Cillian Murphy is gorgeous if he only he was a wee bit taller.
