Just wondering whats peoples reviews on Angel reading?

Didn't know what it was so when googled I got this:

An angel reading is your opportunity to receive personal messages and guidance from the angels. It's your chance to ask questions to the angels about any area of your life. If you seek guidance about love, relationships, family, careers, money or any other aspect of life, the angels will provide helpful and personal messages during your angel reading.

Not sure what the definition of an "angel" is in this case.

Looks like nonsense to me.

I do angel readings for people, the cards just blow me away every time, they hit the point of what is going on in the person's life. I don't have to ask why the person has come to see me, the cards start the conversation and every reading is so different. Amazing and fantastic. I just love them.

My understanding is that Angel card reading is a form of 'soft' divination. Divination can be loosely defined as an art and practice of gaining secret or hidden knowledge from a hidden reality that goes on behind the world of appearances. Divination has been used for centuries with Angel cards being a modern hodge-podge system utilising the signs and signifiers of christianised "angels". There is no history that I am aware of accunting for the science and practice of Angel cards.
Runes, Ogham, I Ching etc would be a far more powerful tool by comparison.

I had my first experience with angel cards last week.I was learning how to use and control energy, which started running through me a few weeks ago.The girl with me picked one card from a pack as a guide for the day and she asked would i like to try.I shuffled the deck for a few minutes and picked the same card as her.The instructor said it was the energy giving us a group message because we were all consciously connected at that time.A few months ago i would have thought that quiet strange but synchronicities and oddities are part of daily life now so nothing surprises me anymore.

It doesnt matter what you call this energy,it has many names(angels/chi/ki/prana/holyspirit/love etc but whatever you use it for will reflect back on you...Karma

Angel cards are just tools and are not much good unless in the hands of someone open and connected to their higher self.This unlimited source of power and knowledge comes from the universe and all that is and is channelled through the person and into many types of tools (cards/runes/vision/hearing/dowsing rods/pendulums/ouija boards).

Sounds like 'cold reading' to me.
The general assumption of 'its all the same thing really' always gets my goat up. That form of perspectivism disallows any method of enquiry or theory of knowledge in general. All these schema [runes/ouija / tarot etc etc] are not equally valid, if they were then there would be no need for any defined schema or indeed 'reader' in the first place. Anyone could do it, with anything from toothpicks to tarot.

I dont know what you mean by "cold reading",it was just one random card that turned out to be not so random,but that does not matter as i have witnessed a lot stranger than that.

You are correct when you say anyone can do it with anything from toothpicks to tarot because as i said before its the person who channels the knowledge through the tools.The tools are just tools.
All knowledge is available to everybody if they just allow themselves to look.The extent of the knowledge you can aquire will increase as your own energy systems clears and runs smoother and there are many ways to open yourself up to this knowledge,meditation is the best way to start.

Although I have used divination many times on myself in the past, I would never recommend individuals to take divination performed by others for anything other then fun or entertainment. Divination, performed correctly is a

This is your understanding, I hope you can accept that others will see it differently. For example you mention that you think that all schema are not equally valid, or anyone could do it with anything from toothpicks to tarot. I think the 'schema' or tools, are simply that. Props or aids, and it does not matter what they are. So toothpicks, playing cards, runes, sandboxes, anything, can work.

You have mentioned Ogham as a better tool than Feelings.
Anything that is not of the self to gain knowledge is just a tool.Feelings are of the self and are a pure connection to scource,but you must understand which feelings are true to you and not what you "THINK" are true to you.Dont think about your feelings,Feel them instead.(every one of them!)
Another powerful connection to scource is Sound and Vibration.The sanskrit om is one example and its from the self.

I have many times been drawn to divination. I have trained in energy healing. I would consider myself an intelligent person and perhaps I could have saved myself alot of pain if I had used it before I got really damaged by angel card readings. My goal here is not to validate or come up with a theory as to whether I believe it to be true or not, what I feel happens is that yes a connection can be made but the receiver (reader) getting that information....that's where the problem occurs. I have been in a very loving relationship for 4 years and because of vulnerability, giving away my power I have allowed 2 angel card readers to tell me that my relatioship is doomed and that we are terrible for each other. Devastating. and not something I would have felt to be true in my heart. Of course no relationship is perfect. I was also told I have a demon attached to me but that I could not go to anybody to get it fixed...seriously...the power of suggestion is so strong and although I can mentally separate out what was said....the doubt still lingers in my mind and I am heart broken...I really need to re-build my faith in myself after these expereinces....

Hearing that there are readers out there who spout that rubbish makes my blood boil. A reader should above all, DO NO HARM. But too many forget that they have a vulnerable person sitting in front of them and come out with the most irresponsible tripe. How they think telling someone they have a demon 'attached' is a good thing I don't know. I've struggled to undo that kind of harm but it gets ingrained and its hard to get people to let go of such negative ideas.

Readings are suggestions. Possibilities. Readers can be wrong. And you always have free will.

Perhaps you need to be more open minded .
I went to an angel card reader ,i wasnt vunerable ,I didnt get rubbish spouted out to me .The reader came out with very reasonable and remarkable accurate comments .
I can only recommend angel card readers

I think you picked up Oryx's post incorrectly, he was referring to a situation that a previous poster shared about an angel card reader who said some strange stuff to her about Demons etc being attached to her that she can't get rid of and no one can help her.

In reference to her post about the demon being attached, have no fear as any entities etc live on fear so just relax, smile and be joyful stay within the Loving feeling within your Heart and anything outside your energy field which shouldn't be there will be drawn away.
