Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

the typical nerds in moms basement types? I get the impression the place has changed from its first years, imagine being on here around 2001 and looking at know your nerds, be full of badly dressed, overweight slobs in slipknot t-shirts.....Oh wait :P

obviously internet forums are a bit weird, in ireland especially but seems a lot of ordinary people on here, the type you'd have been mates in school with.

    1) Aren't Slipknot t-shirts and skater clothes pretty much the same thing?

    and

    2) Skater clothes and Topman clothes certainly are not the same thiing!

I always find it weird when people make these "I'm cool, they're not" statements. You must need to have an incredible amount of self-worth\lack of self-awareness to think in these terms.

Not exactly, but "Skater by day, Topman dude by night" has this beside it:

From the boards users I can think of, very few (or certainly the minority) would fit the characterization of the stereotypical nerd the OP describes.

I do look a bit too nerdy when I wear my glasses, and I don't dress very well, and my sisters always call me a slob, so maybe I fit the OP's description to some extent. Not fat, but then I don't think that's an especially nerdy attribute anyway.

So your influences are a woman-beater, a small virgin, an overpaid underwear guy kickballer, and a bunch of small virgins?

    Not surprised you're so cool.

Well if we're talking stereotypes, I'd rather be the clever nerd than the stupid jock. This is all so yankee, they don't like people to be smart. You got to be popular. That's where it's at. Apparently. So conform, people. :D
    Yeah I'm a geek.

Yes but these people don't influence why I dress the way I dress. Even it's similarly the same. I dress the way I want when I want. Weather it's in fashion or not.

You dress like that because you think girls like it, complete difference.
