new build problem

    A friends new build was working fine for a few weeks now he has told me when he powers it up it just freezes on the asrock mobo start up screen. It wont even let him go into bios etc

    Anyone have any idea what i can do?

    I had a similar problem few weeks ago. Turns out a faulty external hard was causing it to freeze up. Try restarting with only keyboard and mouse plugged in. If that doesn't work I think you'll need to reset the cmos.

    Check manual :) Usually there's a jumper that needs to be placed to Clear CMOS position. Am sure it's in the MB handbook.

    I had this problem also and it was the same as above an issue with an external drive
