Could he not stick a relay inline with the sounder? ?That way when he arms the panel for away the gates would open but would also open in the event of fire or intrusion..... On returning though it would be useless as youd have to open the gates with your normal fob or keypad....... So Altor is right but the above is an option

    Hi Altor

    (off topic)
Can this be set up that the main bell cherps when armed as an indicator that the alarm is on

The strobe would flash... I dont think the external sounder sounds... Just the internal and the strobe

The internal will only open the gate on activation of an alarm then. Using the squak will only start the gate opening then close once the output returns to normal state. Neither option would work in this case.

Yes, that is how the squak works.

Most gates have built in timers that cause them to automatically close after a duration of time. He'd be connecting into the panel where the keypad connects , the output would activate the gates timer

That's depending on the gates. If your using another relay to control the gates then it will make a difference.

If they didnt have an auto close timer then altors way will work fine.. Pressing 9 to open then 9 to close.. But remember to adjust the photo cells because if there tripped the gate will remain open until 9 is pressed again

There is also a timed relay that is available but the 9 will still have to be pressed to change the status of the relay in the panel. I have one somewhere so will post up the make tomorrow when I find it :D

But the gates will close regardless of the relays state... (Ditec only )

Some can depend on the state of the relay that is going to them, that's why the timer in the settings is needed to set how long it opens for.
