Plea of guilty -Probation Act

If someone pleas guilty to a minor offence like drunk and disorderly in the District Court can the judge impose the Probation Act instead of a conviction even though the person has plead guilty or is the Probation Act only applied when accused pleads not guilty?

also if one is to plead guilty does the gard go into the details /evidence?

On a plea of guilty AGS will give an outline of the offence.
