cinema is the worst first date place, unless you get an early coffee in and get to chat for a couple of hours beforehand and afterwards, otherwise its just sitting in the dark not talking for 2 hrs

    Did you fancy him?

I did before we met, if that makes any sense? I'm not so sure now. If he's not interested, then there's no point. If he's just being young and shy, well, I'm sorry, but I'm not looking for a project, I really couldn't be bothered trying to coax someone out of their shell for weeks and weeks and weeks.
I hear ya. Would you try one more date and see if he's any chattier/fun?

Don't like cinema as a first date, it's just basically sitting awkwardly for 2 hours in the dark barely getting to know each other. But it is a "safe" option.

:D Made home made falafel and home made guacamole tonight :D

Have to agree with this. Cinema's grand once you have got to know someone, but for a first date you really need somewhere you can talk.
    Exactly!

Coffee or drinks is far better, or seeing as how I'm a big softy sap, a nice walk!
    Don't you mean a nice waddle :D

could just be nerves too, some people either talk a lot less or a lot more when they're nervous

I have no money for a new laptop and spent €120 last month on downloading Microsoft office for it. Balls. :(:(
What's wrong with it? My boyfriend works in I.T, he's here beside me now so if you PM me the problems your having with it, I'll show it to him if you want.

Had a Chinese for dinner and am hungry again ffs. Not even finished eating an hour ago. Although I had very little to eat.

Sitting here yawning now, but I want food. And drink.

I've seen seasons 1 & 2. It has to be one of the best shows I've ever watched. My all-time favourite show is the West Wing and I have to say Breaking Bad isn't far off rivaling that. It's fantastic.

I think one of the best blind dates I ever went on we met at the zoo. It is a public place so you feel safe and it has lots of built in conversation starters.

He ended up being totally not my type but I thought the location to meet was very clever.

Oh, I don't know! I picked it up, it made a horrible rattling noise, like someone emptied a load of nails into it and it went off. It's okay now because I have it really still while I memory stick the important stuff- I'll turn it upside down in a bit and investigate.

I'm generally so careful with it, but I do sometimes set it down with a bump. Fingers crossed it's not something major! :o

these things matter, compatibilty with humour, taste in the same stuff etc etc. you dont have to find a carbon copy of yourself with opposite lady/man parts but similar tastes in things definitely helps a relationship in a big way.

Is there anything else wrong/odd about it?

Can you PM me all the problems etc you've had/are having with it and I'll show it to my bf and see what he says. It's hard to say what is or could be wrong without more info.

Does it sound like the fan is making a louder or stranger noise than it usually does?

    Thanks Kiera.

Also if anyone can recommend somewhere for good tapas on Saturday afternoon/early evening that would be awesome too :)

    Odessa for brunch.

The Port House on South William Street for tapas. Or Pinxtos, sister restaurant in Temple Bar.

Also Havana on George Street is lovely for tapas too.

Is it tapas or Tapas? Hmmmm.

Hi posy, I work in IT and am into hardware as a hobby. From your description, it could be two things, either a cooling fan failing or the hard drive failing. The fact that it shut off and then rebooted could indicate an overheat which would go with the fan failure. If it is a fan, it's not an expensive fix.

If it is the hardrive failing, try not to run to many hard-drive intensive programs, for example don't run an antivirus scan unless you have to, and back up everything immediately. If you can, you could download and install CPUid's hardware monitor which is free and will show you the temperatures of your processor (CPU) and other internal devices. Then you can check if it's overheating by googling your processors safe temparature operating range. You can figure out what processor you have by right clicking(if your using windows) on your hard drive (probably c:\) in "my computer" and clicking on properties. Your hardware spec will be listed there and you can google away.

If your computer continues to reboot, backup what you can, and stay calm, it's possible to take a failing hardrive out of a computer and replace it with another for a relatively low cost. Your data is where your true value is, so backup as long as you can, don't forget your bookmarks in your browser, your photos, and important documents. Best of luck!;)

I can't stand that guy, he's just really annoying and I can't figure out what is up with his voice. The first video of his I saw was one where he was explaining why squatting is bad and the leg press is much better, I was trying to figure out was it a pisstake or not.

If you use the referencing on Microsoft Word as you do your essay, it really helps make it much easier. References tab at the top of the page - has options for footnotes and APA referencing, so you put it in as you go along; everytime you want to insert a reference, you click onto it and it will put it in correctly, and then when you finish the essay, a click of a button and your ending bibliography is done.

I've used it for APA referencing and it was great - very easy to use.

Thanks. :) My main issue was poor preparation on my part. All sorted now, though.

Just back from Book Club where we all HATED the book. Unusual for everyone to agree on a book. Four years on the go and the first time that has happened. Was worth it for the cake/wine/crisps/cheese/grapes etc. Oh, and the gossip once we sorted out the book.

Oooh could you link to the recipe please! :)

It's all in me head, loads of recipes online but I didn't find one as simple as this one:

    150g Chorizo diced
    1 onion diced
    1 clove garlic chopped
    250g split red lentils
    1.5 l chicken stock
    Sunflower oil

Saute chorizo, onion and garlic in sunflower oil until golden.
Add lentils and cook for 3 mins.
Add 3/4 of the stock and simmer for 20 mins stirring occasionally
Add remaining stock and simmer for around 20 mins more

    Thassit, enjoy...
