Hi , I was thinking of chipping (superchips) my X5 3.0sd. Would it affect my BMW warranty (2years remaining). Can it lead to any long term damage. Any advice/recommendations welcome.

I wouldn't go with any sort of genereric 'chips' when tuning.

Proper engine tuning needs to be done on an indevidual basis on a dyno.

Is is petrol or diesel?

+1, Joe is the best in Ireland, and probably one of the best in Europe when it comes to this kinda thing.

Nothing beats a custom map.
