IS-8 / T-10 is the IS4-replacement
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-10_Heavy_Tank
In 7.3 there will be some changes in the Soviet HTs. The KV tank range will be branched into KV-1 and KV-2. Heavies T-150, KV-4 and ST-1 will be introduced into the game. IS-4 will be moved to tier X, and IS-8 (T-10) will take its place in tier IX.

Quote taken from You ask We reply No. 11.

This new info meant that the tech tree for the Russian tanks is outdated.

However, it also makes little sense for the T-10 to be in the IS-4 tree, as it's an evolution of the IS-3. So until they give us an updated tech tree, we don't really know.

The ST-1 would make much more sense.

**edit

Unless of course I'm reading this wrong, and by T-10 taking its place, they mean in Tier 9 of the IS-7 tree...

Actually, that would make perfect sense. I muddled it all up. lol.

Q&A SAYS it is a ST-1 tier 9 . the second tier 9 will be Obj 252.

revised tree here ..http://overlord-wot.blogspot.com/2011/04/full-tech-trees-revised-and-improved.html.
looks like a mean MF though if the turret armour is any good

Yeah - as per my edit above, I muddled up what they meant lol

The ST-1 in Tier 9 of IS-4 tree, and T-10 (IS-8) in Tier 9 of IS-7 tree.

1952 - USSR T-10 (IS-8) Heavy Tank

Armament: 1 - 122mm D-25TA main gun
later 1 - 122mm M62T2 gun
1 - 14.5mm KPWT MG
1 -14.5mm KPWT AA MG
Armor: 250mm
Engine: 12 cyl., W12-5 diesel, 750 hp
Speed: 30 mph
Range: 108-168 miles
Crew: 4
Weight: 51.5 tons

Originally designated as the IS-8, this tank was a warmed over version of the IS-3 design. A heavier turret was added and a stamped belly plate in a shallow V shape. Two major revisions were made to the IS-8 before production began in 1953 as the T-10. Although equipped with a vertical gun stabilizer, the tank could not engage targets on the move. In 1957 the T-10M was introduced with a new engine, V-12 SB and a new gun, 122mm M62T2 with a distinctive multi-baffle muzzle brake. However, rate of fire was only 2-3 rounds/min. It was the standard heavy tank of the Soviets in the 1950s and 1960s. Slow and short range, they were never popular with the Commanders. All were removed from service in the late 1970s and were scrapped in 1993. Nearly all are gone. A total of 8,000 were produced.
