The council did the damage to the line at some stage,or so I was informed by a technician. I assumed when he told me that it was going to be fixed in the near future.
Ff to now when my line went down last Saturday week and the technicians have been out yo do there usual temporary fix to get it up and running.
I told them wen they rang about this fault and they went and put a bag over the cone, and I haven't seen or heard from them since. I have a photo as proof just haven't had a chance to upload it.

There has always been problems with our line but no one seems to care. Always a quick fix patching job.

But this really takes the biscuit.

Writing this on a phone so sorry about the mistakes.

Thats a bog Trebor, ya hardly expect eircom to go bury a faulty line in a bog when it is much easier to find a faulty line in the rain overground. :)

This is a good one :) Look on the bright side though, as the signal rolls down the cable from the cone it may pick up a bit of speed ;)

They were out again today,3 vans worth, and working on another part of the line.

And still the line isn't fixed, if you ask me its worse its getting. Completely dead at the moment, at least yesterday you could make out a dialing tone behind all the crackling. They even rang up to tell me it was working on said line even though I could barely hear them.
Oh and there wondrous technological device for keeping the water away has blown away.

    Where will it all end.....

I wonder what an email to the conor pope slot on the ray darcy so would do.

At the risk of sounding facetious, are you blind?

Got a call this morning from another rep, looking for directions. That was the last I heard from him.

Wats the reasoning in sending out new guys every time? Surely it would be better to have the same lads try and fix the problem rather than having a different lad learning the ropes every day?

And for some reason they all seem to be bypassing the fault in the picture!

    It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow

i saw an eircom technician standing over it one evening a week or two back testing it with a signal tester.

i think he might have replaced one or two of them scotchloks as some werent as rusty as the others.

    Good God.

I know I said 'a couple of scothlok crimps' around 6 months back but there must be  30 in this photo alone. and it was meant to be a temporary solution.

    Hi trebor28,

We can try to insure to get a permanent repair, if you would like to PM me with your telephone number of the line in question?

    Thanks, Mark
