You will have a nice walk from any of the nearest bus stops i'm afriad. The closest i can think of is at the Dunnes on Childer's road. Bus from the Centra on William's street to the university.
Route 308 on the map here: http://www.limerickcity.ie/Transport/BusRouteMapTimetables/Thefile,9556,en.pdf
The stop you want is the one to the left of "Singland" marked on the map. Turn around and go back to the last roundabout the bus was at, turn left and start walking till you get to the Bloodmill roundabout and then right and left again. Harvey's is opposite B&Q.

Google map from the stop to the shop.

I was full sure there was one or two bus stops along the road in front of bru na gruadan. Although they may only run in conjunction with solar eclipses.

There are, but no city buses go there.

It's about about a 25 minute walk from the stop on the Childers Road to Harvey norman via the Bloodmill Road... http://g.co/maps/t7ns8

your best bet OP would be to get a cab out to HN, im usually out there fairly regularly and a cab from the city centre to HN and back comes in about €14.

economy cabs should be able to give you some idea of prices on 061 505050.

I would not walk the Bloodmill Road, it is used by too much traffic as a rat race. A pedestrian would have a good chance of being hit walking that narrrow road where the verges really stick out.

The OP would have to get off at the bus stop opposite Woodlawn Park, just under the railway bridge on Ballysimon Road and walk the rest of the way to HN. Probably 20 min walk from there.
