    Thats not a reason, its a picture of a crest

    That is the reason, the green background on their old crest is why they wear green away jerseys.

    The reason they wear Green before another person talks about the ridiculous urban myth.

    Germany have a green away kit to represent the federal state of Saxony. The white represents Prussia.

    Or so I was told earlier this week. The Irish connection is 100% false though

    finally after 4 pages somebody speaks sense.

    Prussia and Saxony were traditionally the two strongest states in Germany. Although a good percentage of what was Prussian territory now lies within Poland. Transferred after WW2.

    I would seriously love to know where this Irish myth comes from.

    Green is the official colour of the Deutscher Füßballbund. That would be why they have a green second jersey quite often.

    That's my understanding of it anyway.
