This has to be the one time where the hairs on my neck genuinely stood up for most of the video. I think it was the emotion shown by John Hayes and Jerry Flannery that makes it so special.

Are there any songs/anthems/videos that have given you the goosebumps?

For me there is nothing like Amhrán na bhFiann in Croke park when it is packed. It can be anyone playing but there is always an added bit of excitement for me when Dublin are about to play

It's actually a beautiful song with a great message. It's really annoying that football fans hijacked it. If I say I like the song, I'm asked if I support Liverpool or Celtic. No, I don't, I just like the ****ing song. The song originally had nothing to do with football so it can be enjoyed outside that context.

I find it's generally just mumbled at GAA games tbh.

I love the sound of the anthem just as the last bars fade and the crowd takes up.

It's a curious cultural staple and quite tricky to master: trying to spoof a song that you don't know the words to in front of loads of surrounding people while drunk.

I'd say people get cold sweats the night before the game thinking about it.

And it's most dreary and repetitive anthem, it's barely a song at all.
At least La Marseillaise has a bit of music behind it

I actually like the tune though, and I like the tune to Rule Britannia also.

I always remember Run Like Hell from Pink Floyds the Wall when it was used as the soundtrack for the Scotsport programme on STV. There was something really powerful about these expansive riffs that matched the stadium camera shots.
Then Survivor went and nicked the riff for Eye of the Tiger.

I really wish this was the tune for the Irish anthem. It's a peice of music that puts me in mind of our nation. (Specifically from here onwards)

The offensive verses of GSTQ aren't used any more.

The tune of Amhrán na bhFiann is stirring, even when played at the end of the night at a disco.

Most stirring anthems IMHO are the South African and the New Zealand anthems.
