Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah i seen it trending on twitter but i thought it was just another fake death story like kim Jong un yesterday.

Not massively shocking but sad for her all the same. She never really got over the drugs.

Jaysus I hated her in the 80's, but no doubting the voice.

As for Bobby Brown, addicts with near no money or not as much help as she had at her disposal, managed to beat their habit.

God knows the reasons, but RIP.

    HUMAN DECENCY...ever hear of it?

I mentioned relatives because lets take an example, say your mother died and I turned around making a joke. You think that would be a laugh ;)

This is only about showing, someone who dies, respect.
The comparison is still moot - nobody here was related to Whitney. And of course people would get pissed off about jokes at their dead relative's respect - it's from an entirely different perspective.

Always found her output horribly MOR tbh, even by 80's standards.

    RIP

No doubt her latest album will have record sales. Death does that to a lot of singers; they die, and they become more famous :pac:

Well it's not gonna do her any good, is it?
You're right though, in that the cash-registers will soon be ringing.

Was only looking at pictures of her in the press today ' out on the tare ' on friday night but she still had that ' whitney Houston ' smile ...I only got a text 10 minutes ago saying she's dead .

She didn't find that peace in her life she was so wanted and needed and that Boddy Brown has a lot to answer for to ...

    RIP .

So ... respect for the recently deceased doesnt exist, nor should it? ;)
Im not talking about making fake statements of "OMG! IM SO SAD!!! :(" ... No. Just having the respect to not make jokes as soon as some one is dead.

Was she one of your relatives?

I think the "She brought it on herself" comments are more ****ed up than a few cheesy puns.

I wonder, is it an Irish or just a very human thing to react to bad news with humour? Either way, I agree with you - it's not half as offensive as the "she brought it on herself" comments. Those comments make it seem like she did something terrible, worthy of mitigating the loss of a life. She didn't. Her only crime that I can discern is that she was human and, hence, vulnerable and became addicted to drugs. It's a potential that every one of us has, regardless of how talented, how reserved, how clever and pretty and friendly and affiable and wonderful we may be. There but for the grace of god go I and all that.

So to those who mock her in her death, no, she may not be my relative, or your relative, but she is a human being who is special to someone. Being in the public eye shouldn't mean that dignity should be reduced in death.

His mother died and you were making jokes? Have you no decency FFS, of course he didn't think it was funny.

Was his mother Whitney Houston or were they related? That's dreadful. Have you no decency, no shame?

You can joke about whatever you want, obviously.
But if, for whatever reason, your first instinct on hearing this news is to do so, you should at least try and ensure that it's a good joke/is worth reading.

    From yesterdays Sun....

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/4122486/Whitney-Houston-looks-worse-for-wear.html
TROUBLED star Whitney Houston looked distressed and disoriented as she left a club last night.

The singing diva, 48, was spotted leaving nightspot Tru Hollywood with daughter Bobbi Kristina, looking worse for wear.

And she appeared to have blood dripping down her leg and a long scratch on her wrist.

The one-time Queen Of The Night had sung earlier in the evening at the Kelly Price & Friends Unplugged: For The Love Of R&B Grammy Party.

But her late-night appearance — looking haggard, angry and bleary-eyed — suggests she is still tackling her inner demons.

Picture shows she was in a bad state.

    R.I.P.

You can do whatever you want as far as i'm concerned; made that clear in my post.
I merely gave my opinion regarding some of those posting jokes and the jokes they managed to muster.
