    Hey folks headed out to the odeon tonight in town but am in a dilemma as the first bus home is a 5am and taxi is way too expensive. does anyone know of anywhere that would be open til about this time, even a cafe style place? not mc donalds, though will go there if necessary :)

    I've done a search but everywhere seems to be til about 1/2 latest..

    I see that there is a thread about late cafes started today but ideally would be looking for somewhere that does have a bit of life about it if possible...

    Perfect place for you is the Gigs place on South Richmond Street, Portobello, D2.
    Its open really late, and serve a nice breakfast !

    Do you know the score with the odeon? Why it is closing i mean. They seem to be planning a reopening i believe?

    In answer to your question, you could join one of the casinos as a new member. They are mostly open untill 6am so you could hang out there, you dont need to gamble much :-) i belive the dark horse on burgh quay opens around 4am at weekends if you wanted a drink :-)

    Yes, i think it was.but there were reports that they planned on reopening in the future, which isnt the usual stance the owners would take. I dont know any more than that though

    very late reply not sure if that means this should be locked.. but went to the latin night advertised on odeon door in 4 dame lane i think.. I'm not sure what anyone else would think of it, but we personally did not enjoy it at all. upstairs was all the pro salsa dancing to which you had to pay in and very few downstairs, not great vibe. Might be better by now though if its still going on there on Sundays. Wish I had seen this though before I headed out.. it was pretty brutal night out.
