help finish my build!!

Ok last year i picked up the following

GeIL 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz VALUE PLUS Dual Channel
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

Due to funds i couldnt continue with it

In the next few weeks i intend on finishing the build and will hopefully have 500euro to put towards it.

I need it for general browsing, programming, heavy photoshop and illustrator us and some high end gaming.

I have a decent samsung 22inch monitor from 2 years ago.

And il need a copy of windows 7.

I assume that the monitor is HD resolution. Right now, you'd want to be looking at a 6870/560ti/6950 with that kind of budget. The 7850 should be also covering that area and is released at the start of March. I'd be reluctant to buy a card in that range with the others just around the corner. It depends on how soon you want your system to be up and running.
By the time you've added a PSU and hard drives though, a 6870 will enough cost.

You'll certainly want to try to fit an SSD in with that. Photoshop opens in 2 or 3 seconds instead of 20. What kind of hard drive size would you be thinking of?

Are you a student that could avail of student windows?

Ya the monitor is HD.

And yes i defo want a SSD and a decent enough 500gb HDD.

I dont mind waiting a few weeks more for the newer cards.

I guess in the mean time i can get the case and fan. I do like the look of the antec 900 but that is probably dated now and im not sure what in built fans it has.

What would be the best case and fan to buy which provides decent space, for graphics card and more HDD's if i decide to overclock down the road?

The most important thing about a case is that you like the look of it yourself. If you want one that's very quiet, I always recommend the Fractal Design Define R3. It's pretty expensive near the same price.
At ~€100 so for these cases, it severely eats into the rest of your budget though.

Is the fan you're referring to the CPU fan?

For €500, you want to fit in: a case + SSD + HDD + PSU + DVD drive + GPU + Windows + CPU heatsink. What about keyboard and mouse?

I can draw up a list with prices tomorrow.

Are you a student that could get windows 7 cheaper?
It's €45.45 from www.software4students.ie when you're a student or have kids in school etc.

Edit: It's tomorrow already! I can look at prices/examples if you answer those question later.

Well as im going to wait for the new graphics cards to come out i may as well extend my budget by 100euro!!

i have a decent keyboard and mouse at the mo but once iv built the PC il probably upgrade so il be leaving them outta the budget for now.

And yes im referring to the CPU fan.

In regards the fans inbuilt into cases i was under the impression that more was good to keep heat down. Obviously more fans would mean more noise so im open to suggestions. Im not too pushed about noise tbh but i dont want a diesel generator either!
That fractal case looks nice tho!
tbh i see alot of talk about cases so im not sure if i should be going on aesthetics or on the amount of fans it has.

Im not a student so il need a copy of win 7.

so with that my budget is revised upwards to 600euro!!

This is from German site hardwareversand.de. They're one of the cheapest sellers around but note that they only take back transfers (or paypal up to some amount for an extra 3%).

I'm not sure how long the warranty is on that hard drive. It's a fast drive and fairly reliable but Samsung's warranties now fall under Seagate who reduced theirs to 1 year, which is atrocious in comparison to their 5 years half a decade ago. WD's are now 2 years (reduced from 3) but it's a slightly slower drive.

The pricing on hard drives is a bit unstable at the moment because of shortage from factories shutting with flooding before Christmas.

Also note that the windows there is German. You can get the English version too but it's €6 dearer. You can download your own English image and use the German key to save you money. Check the link for the windows guide in my signature.

550W is actually on the generous side. You could overclock and 450W would still be loads.

Unless you plan to have two cards?
