    Maybe they should have a lost and found section in the Student Portal, so that if someone does lose something they can check it. Unless they have that already?

    If some enterprising your man has made a list of all these spammy spamming people can they pm me it so I can add to my block or set up another filter. Very annoying on co-op and your phone is sqeaking about an email about something irrelevant you never signed up for.

    I had a filter set up for emails from Mary Sweeney in the past - mark as read, move to spam. Only way to deal with the torrent of useless information and emails from some divisions.

    I've removed two references to a named individual at the request of the person who named that person. Two things to point out:

    1) The forum charter asks that you don't name lecturers, especially not in a derogatory manner.

    2) I hate spammers, especially those who misuse internal email lists - always have, always will. There's an An Focal editorial by me from some time in 2008 that clearly says as much and my position (for what it's worth) hasn't changed. From a personal point of view, naming and shaming people who are shameless in their spamming activities is better than they deserve. However, for reasonable and legal reasons, the charter doesn't permit it. And as the person who posted the name has since requested that it be removed and it's been directly brought to my attention, that's been done. I still hate spammers. They deserve and continue to receive my eternal disdain. Possibly yours too but avoid naming them here as some people are less happy to be named as spammers than they are to indiscriminately click "send".:)

    (there are some examples in this thread that are entirely legitimate, relevant and adequately targeted. There are also some that are sent by lazy spammers.)

    There's a precedent case on this whereby the user gets a fine for misuse of University computing facilities (i.e. leaving UL email logged in) and can be done for abusive email unless (s)he identifies the culprits, who will then be done for abusive email.

    I'm sure these things can happen unintentionally,you leave your computer open and this is the result. I've heard stories of similar things happening in the past but first time its happened to me personally.
