Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me out..

Im doing a humanities course and applied for my supervisor this morning through the website..

Checked my emails a few times since and I've heard nothing? Was I supposed to get some kind of email confirmation that my application has been received?
All I got was the screen on the website saying I will be contacted shortly with my supervisor details.

I'm just anxious about it as it's first come first served and I really want my first choice supervisor.

Anyone been through this before? How long before you got your details?

I don't know the answer to your question but I have another one I'd like to ask. Are we allowed to deviate from the suggested topic areas or are they topics that we must specialise in?
