Battlefield 3 developer DICE has just announced that a minor patch for PC version of the game will launch on February 14 at 8AM UT via Origin. According to the details revealed by the developer, this new patch will improve performance and stability issues, and also carry fix for crash problems faced by gamers.

On Battlelog, DICE stated, "we would also like to inform the community that we have several ongoing developments with regards to balance and gameplay, performance, stability and the overall feature set that will be announced in the coming weeks"

DICE has also revealed the patch note for this minor upcoming patch. We have it for you below.
•Support for Intel’s new Ivy Bridge product line (as yet unreleased)
•Fixes for two reproducible client crashes:
•Operation Firestorm- Conquest Large – Fixed a client crash when users spawn in certain vehicles.
•Canals – Rush – Fixed a client crash at the 2nd set of mcoms if the player drives a vehicle into the vicinity of the exploding rocket battery.
•AMD Radeon 7xxx series performance improvements

    BUT then
As promised DICE has released a minor patch update for PC version of Battlefield 3, but sadly for gamers, it brings back Corrupted File/Memory [9808096]‘ issue that was introduced some months ago.

It has been reported that many Battlefield 3 PC gamers are getting banned from public servers due to this Corrupted File/Memory [9808096]. DICE are very much aware of the issue, and are working on fix for the same.

On Twitter, DICE stated "We are aware of the issues caused by “Corrupted File/Memory [9808096]” and are working on it. More announcements during the day."

The timeframe for Corrupted File/Memory [9808096] fix is not yet known, expect to see new announcement from DICE soon.

The last time there was an update I couldn't play for over a week.

Here's hoping for no issues this time.

There's a "fix" for servers to stop this

    http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654347889544601/

THIS IS FOR SERVER ADMINS ONLY

This can be done in separate ways:

    a) change pb_sv_restrictions from 1 or 2 to 0 in your pbsv.cfg

    or

    b) open the PB console (e.g. in procon) and send the command pb_sv_restrictions 0 to the server

    This disables kicking for restrictions.

You can change it back when the issue is solved.

    (taken from ggc forums)

    And for the players
edit- I updated PB manually and now it is working! Thanks to noroom here the guide from him:
Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and select Task Manager.
Go to the PROCESSES tab and click "Show processes from all users".
Find PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe and END PROCESS on both of them if they're running.
Download PBSVC.exe and run it as Administrator. Follow the wizard.
Download PBSetup and run it as Administrator.
Add all the games you have installed to the list and click check for updates.
Close the programs and log in to Battlelog and connect to a server of your choice.

Yeap! Update punkbuster... You'd think they'd have a decent autoupdater.

    Download PBSetup
