No point on putting money into that processor and that socket type. Fill out these questions and someone here will be able to spec a build of better quality and better value. Any PC you build yourself will be much better than what you would get out of PC World.

why do you say that about the processor etc....i would have assumed the higher the better, will be more future proofed and will allow me to play current and new games?

What Tij da feen means is that that CPU is obsolete. Newer CPUs offer better performance for the money. With an old CPU socket, you have limited upgraded options.

It's an old processor, if you're going for a gaming build an i5-2500k will perform better than the processor that you have chosen. The 1366 socket is old at this point and it's a waste of money investing in it when you can get better for cheaper. If you answer the questions I linked in my other post we can recommend a build that will suit your needs.

Jesus that turns out expencive and slow with that CPU!!!

As. Lads said: i5 2500k will chew and spit out, then piss on on that old gen i7. For half price too!

For gaming you are looking at 2500k z68 8gb DDR 3 and something like 7950 with your budget.

Fill in that form and we will be able to help you more. We will know budget and your needs etc

    Item|Price

    Total build cost: €1,040.33 + €30 shipping
    Intel Core i5-2500K Box, LGA1155 |€191.82
    ASRock Z68 Pro3 Gen3, Sockel 1155, ATX |€93.83
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 550W |€52.51
    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9 |€33.65
    Crucial M4 128GB SSD 6,4cm (2,5") |€167.99
    DIGITUS® Wireless 150N PCI Adapter |€14.55
    Sapphire HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI-Express |€411.01
BitFenix Shinobi Midi-Tower black Window, ohne Netzteil |€59.05
    Samsung SH-222AB bare schwarz SATA| €15.92

The spec here is 70 euro overbudget but the gfx card can be dropped to something lower but you'd really want to wait until the start of March when the 7870/7850 will be released. That said the 7950 is a very good card which performs near and above the GTX 580, and the 7950 will only get better as the drivers mature.

If you wanted to throw a bit extra at the case I'd recommend something like this.
