Music practical question!

Does anyone know if you're allowed to play with a metronome in the practical? I've checked the syllabus and it's not clear. I'll be playing drums, and I know that my backing tracks can't have any drums in them, but some of them contain a metronome. My music teacher in school isn't sure about it, although the man that teaches me drums has given these tracks to people before for the Leaving Cert, so I'd assume they're okay to use. But does anybody know for definite what the rules are? Thanks
