Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sara - Siri Alternative

    Just installed 'Sara'. Looks and acts the same as Siri. No proxy server needed. All software based. Very quick.
    However, it struggles to understand me. I'm going to try it for a few days and see does it learn me!

    Add isoftjsc.com source to cydia and search for Sara

    I agree totally, but things are going the right way. If they had the Sara GUI with Vlingo functionality, it would be perfect

    Is it better or worse than Evi? I heard Evi had improved after the first release so I tried it last week. It's still a joke.

    Never used Evi so can't comment I'm afraid.

    They've just updated Sara and so far out of 25 commands I've asked, it's recognised each one. Asked it to open safari and worked perfectly. The fact it's only out a month and it's like this already is great!

    Just testing out the siri alternatives on non 4S and this does seem to be the best one though I am still having some issues with it recognising.

    What settings did you use? As in language settings - English (UK)?

    Also do you know if anyway to incorporate this with activator as its pointless having to go into the app to open something else i.e. safari

    I have it setup with activator. Hold down my home button and up she pops! When did you install Sara? When I reinstalled it two days ago, it's recognising me much better. I have English US on but she seems stuck on UK

    Sorry I forgot bout this thread, thanks for the reply, yeah I realized I was using the wrong option in activator (SARA dictation and not the actual app), seems to be opening fine now though still having hard time recognising some of my words. I updated it yesterday I think and seems to be working a bit better, prob just missing some of the commands. I tried the different versions of English but seem to get same results.

    Nice alternative though and be good to see where it goes as it seems to be constantly updated.

    Installed it there on a whim but felt it was slowing iphone 4 down and not working well. I installed Siriport first and removed, then Sara. Maybe Siriport left some crap on the phone and this caused a conflict.

    I usually use Vlingo so Sara looked promising.

    Gave siriport another whirl following this

    and it started working 6 hours later, takes ages to activate.
