    Ninja Tune

Time waits for no musician – but it’s still hard to fathom how over two decades have passed since the inception of visionary independent British label Ninja Tune, co-founded by Coldcut musician/producers Matt Black and Jonathan More in 1990. From that beginning the label achieved a level of notoriety quickly, due to its funky style and commitment to eclecticism. Key in the labels success was the constantly growing roster of very different sounding artists including Amon Tobin, The Bug, Bonobo, Mr Scruff, Toddla T, and The Herbaliser . Ninja now has a well respected Hip-Hop arm in Big Dada, a legendary series of mix CDs/ Radio shows (Solid Steel) and some awe inspiring stone-love compilations... the ZEN collection. The label is fresher than ever and this special Dublin show is not to be missed.

    Luke Vibert

Electronic icon Luke Vibert has appeared for Ninja Tune under the alias "Wagon Christ" and most recently "Plug". With an array of releases on Ninja Tune including a solid steel mix, Wagon Christ is Vibert's most celebrated and wondrous monkier. The king of stoned exotica, ridiculous vocal samples, sizzling, funky chunks of exotic busines, swinging rhythm and the psychedelic groove, Vibert has never been one to take himself too seriously, but his music continues to delight. In early 2011, Luke told Ninja Tune that he found some long-lost never heard before DATs dated 1995-1998 from his Plug moniker. Ninja Tune went and did the only graceful thing and released the collection of tracks as the brilliant “Back On Time” album. Simply brilliant.

    DJ Food

Ninja Tune still stand out as the original multimedia record label, the first to champion audio-visual performance, therefore a Dj Food A/V set. With a seemingly single DJ name, it is often wrongly assumed that DJ Food is single person. In fact, a whole host of Ninja Tune DJs, producers and musicians have performed under the name, so the evolutionary nature of the DJ Food sound comes as no surprise. Coldcut were responsible for starting the project in 1990 on the premise of providing metaphorical "food for DJs". Currently Dj Food is represented club-wise by Strickly Kev who has been the labels designer and art director since 1993. No better man.
