Thought for a moment that Mooney was going to play some music, but it was just background music to the robins...would love to see John Creedon or Alf McCarthy on from 3 - 4.30

dear live line listeners, i know how terrible your addiction to live line is.
you wore shorts when you were younger.
and ate ice cream when you went to the zoo,
your mums and dads listened to liveline too,
you hadnt really got a chance.
if you are listening now, like i know you are,
    try to change channel,
    even just for a second,
you ate easter eggs at easter
    I feel your pain ,
if i could ring the police about it i would,
but its not illegal to listen,
    you are not alone,
    thanks love suzie 4

    Dear suzie4
    you seem quite familiar
    there's something in your text
    which is somewhat similar
please forgive me if I'm wrong
but I'm not the first to say
    were you known as 'macroboy'
before the mods sent you away?

I'm not following the thread this week due to work, so I don't know if these have been posted yet, apologies if they have been posted. They are from this weeks issue of the magazine which is strangely appropriate given the hotel beater caller.

Oh, he'll be all Bolshie after this no doubt about it. How dare they do this!

It's gonna be the Household Cavalry Charge, led by the great Socialist wannabee himself, tomorrow. Anything to vent his fury at the gubbermint cuttin' the wages of d'ordinary har-wurkin' broadcaster man a' de peeple.

No Fun on Friday with dese cuts.:D

    I'm calling Bon Jovi......it's a disgrace Joe!

I dont actually think he's gonna get cut any more than he has already... The news report I heard today had a clause that it was 30% of 2008 "fees" from what I heard... I think that's what they said anyway

What a crock! Marian, Joe, Tubridy et al aren't getting touched at all, its numbers 10 to 20 of the top earners that are liable to the cuts.

Ah feck I was hoping that Joe would be hit too, it was fun while it lasted! :D

Anyone think this topic will be discussed today even if everyone jams the Liveline phone lines wanting to discuss the RTE paycuts?

Doubt the will need Brian Connell if they are shutting the London office unless he freelances for them. Always enjoyed his reporting, so they get rid of a good journalist and keep the semi retired like Finucane. Bravo RTE

    F*** Funny Friday

Two this month, does Duffy in his Ivory Tower think that this show cheers up the nation.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,730 ✭✭✭europa11

    Boll*cks.

No wonder the weather is due to turn dull. 2 Unfunny Fridays in a month.

Only a day after RTE announce "cutbacks", they pay these prize hams yet more money to recite gags that weren't funny when first aired during World War 2, while the 'gang' cackle loudly at their own and other participants witty asides.

Money for nothing, no wonder that Unfunny crew love Joe...the great provider of licence fee dosh.

A second funny friday in a month... I think Joe is being passive aggressive because of the latest announcement about further wage cuts in RTE.

Castlebar’s Frank Forde is well established as a comedian on the Theatre circuit around the country and abroad. Frank’s impersonations of Irish sporting personalities have earned him coverage on the Late Late Show, and on the Joe Duffy Show.
He writes most of his own material which includes the use of regional accents. His brand of humour is very much rooted in the Irish way of living. He has perfected the art of allowing people to laugh at themselves. He is particularly popular on the Cabaret scene.
He has won many Entertainment Awards recognising his unique ability to make people laugh but his more serious roles as Garret FitzGerald, Padraig Flynn and Barry Desmond in this musical present an interesting challenge.

    We will see Frank

i wonder are the aul fellas sitting in the rte canteen now trying to write up a couple of wife beating jokes after the last few days. They already insulted our new friends in china and their abit out of touch with modern reality and stuck back on the cabaret circuit so wouldnt put it past em
