TBH, I'd say the sausages you get in a truck stop would be a lot better than you get in a hospital. Truckers don't eat sh1t, and won't put up with it.

    Caller sounds like a snob.

I remember the good ole days when you could lie in your hospital bed and smoke a fag:D

Jason could be a brother of Mr Kelly from Killiney, he's whining about poor Public Hospital food yet obviously didn't pay for Private (he's drawing comparisons)

Next time he goes private, big deal!

ffs, who goes into hospital for the 5-star menu (apart from this gimp) ?

You'd think hospital food would be the healthiest food ever. :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 43,028 ✭✭✭✭SEPT 23 1989

Im sure the patients are told not to eat a full fry straight after a heart operation

I remember being in France years ago and my friend was taking his mother into the hospital for something. She wanted us to stop at a vineyard on the way to get a few bottles because the last time she was there the wine they served was not so good.

Far removed from what you get in Ireland.

yeah this guy is right, they should devote more of the hospital money, which is currently wasted on machines and medication making sure that the patients dont die, to making sure that the ones that do survive eat better.

Health cutbacks don't seem to affect Jason, he wants Nutritionists walking around the wards.

Yeah! no problem J, how many do you want?

Like everything else in our health system, it is cost driven. As a vegetarian, I would dread to be in hospital. Would have to have food sent in.

Cheek of him. I spent two months in a HSE hospital and loved the food. The fry-ups and cups of tea saved me from going mad in the place, and it was good food too. That being said I also like the food at the few truck stops we have so maybe the guy is just a food snob.

Heard that story this morning. Terribly sad.

    Some absolute scumbags out there.

Surely it doesnt take a nutritionist to tell you that a big fry up of lidl own brand sausages(or worse) isn't suitable for someone recovering from a bypass.
