Easy way. Increase the drinking age to 21. Then enforce it. Clown is talking now.

Just to point out that under this caller's proposal, the last caller would have paid the bill for the Search and Recovery operation for his Son.

"Anybody who can affort to get drunk in public"

is it ok to get drunk in private.

Great - increase the price of drink. More nanny state bullsh1t. How on earth is it democratic to screw over the majority of folks based on the actions of the few.

Promoting personal responsibility by nailing those who abuse it with the costs of cleaning up after them is the way to go.

"the drink is so cheap it just pours itself down the throats of the young people..."

And the pubs, clubs and drinks manufacturers don't employ anyone. Let's ban drink and put all of these people on the dole. Let's ban all sponsorship and advertising that the industry proides. That'll solve everything.

Joe could do that for brekkie. Besides youre more likely to be charged €20 for two shots as opposed to two bottles

If you're not doing any harm to anyone (and not being negligent of your responsibilities (say, children etc.)), then, yes it is ok. Personal freedom and personal responsiblity should go hand in hand.

    "All drinks ?"

    "yeah"

    "A pint "

    "Well I don't know about a pint".

The Duffy zone, where All != All.

'The cost of VAT is exponential'

Joe just goes for a long word every now and then, regardless of its meaning. His Language skills are dreadful.

The cheek of that guard saying people should pay extra for the guards to do their job. We already pay the guards a very nice wage to control drunk people in public. Maybe he should review how well his colleagues are doing their job.

That's yer man's point. (sorry if I'm stating the obvious!)

Sting 'em for some of the cost, at least, of their stupid drunken behaviour (and if I had my way, the cost of cleaning up the streets the next morning)
