I'm looking for a good online store to buy a north face jacket. Found this site but just not sure if its legit or not. Seems a bit dodgy, but has good prices.

    http://www.northfaceoutletireland.com/

Anybody had any dealings with them? Anyone recommend online stores for outdoor clothing?

    Thanks in advance

Never heard of that site TBH.

I don't think it's legit, looking at it it's a similiar style but different layout to the actual North Shop site. The official site is www.thenorthface.com where as the one you have is doesn't have "the" any product I've bought from them or seen always has "the"
The prices are appear to be very good value, nearly too good.
I couldn't find this find this on the official site too.

    My guess it's a scam.

Snow & Rock have some good deals at the moment, http://www.snowandrock.com/

Alternatively, I have bought from Cotswold, and found them great, http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/

There's loads of site out there, just have a look, a good thing to do is click on the link, as a rule if they don't have a postal address and a phone number (no harm in actually ringing it) they won't get my business.

Looks dodgy. On their FAQ page under tracking they reference ems.com.cn which is a Chinese website and under the "Customer Instructions" page they say ...
We always packaged the order as a gift; however, because all items are sold on a Delivery Duty Unpaid basis, thus some countries may impose import duties on deliveries. Customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties or taxes that may be imposed on a delivery in the destination country.

I thought it seemed a bit dodgy alright. Prices a bit too good.

I'll give those other sites a try.

    Thanks.

There are plenty of good sites don't just stick to the two I suggested. Also is there a particular model you want? IMHO The North Face tends to be a little pricier than other brands.

I want a waterproof jacket that's good for hillwalking and also can be used as a winter jacket. Doesn't have to be north face.

    Was looking at these two:

    http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/index.cfm/product/berghaus-dru-shell-jacket/

Any good bricks and mortar stores in Dublin?

Went ahead and bought this one. Seems to be a good price and a decent all around jacket.

Now all I have to do is get out and do some walking!!!

Great shop to deal with. Made some great savings at Christmas. They're coming to the end of a two monthsale so their range may be limited at the mo but it looks like a good deal you got.
    Hope the jacket works out.

Well the Irish on the site is terrible, looks like google translate.
    Suspect the site is bogey.

I work for an internet security company and our anti-viral software has prevented me from accessing it labelling it as dangerous and it's pretty good software so it's obviously on the warning list.....

I reported it to TNF legal dept for clarification. See their response below.

The site you refer to is not operated by one of our The North Face partners (for a full list of our The North Face online partners please see http://eu.thenorthface.com/tnf-eu-en/online-partners/) and we are therefore unable to confirm that the product on this site is genuine. In these circumstances, we regret that we cannot assume any responsibility for garments you may purchase.

However, please be assured that we continue to work tirelessly against all sources of potential counterfeits, and your case has been duly submitted to the attention of our Legal Department

    have you tired
    http://www.53degreesnorth.ie/ Carrickmines
http://greatoutdoors.ie/ Chatham House, 2 Chatham Street

or Tog24 or the North Face outlet in the Kildare Village.

edit there is a North Face Store in Dublin (great outdoors) and they are having the last 4 days of their winter sale so their email says

    The North Face Store,

    17/18 Temple Lane,
    Temple Bar,
    Dublin 2.

There is a The North Face outlet in Kildare Village. Tog24 are there also. No worries about authenticity, fit or returns and all for the cost of some petrol and time.

Was going suggest Kildare village too.
They have good stock too new stuff and older stuff too.

Amazon.co.uk have some Northface stuff, usually a lot cheaper than the likes of Millets etc, even after p&p (which is free on some sellers if you spend over £25). I got nice Bergahas stuff there that saved me 100 euro on a jacket and now it is cheaper again on Amazon (damn you). Haven't been to the outlet store yet, so don't know how the prices compare there. Might be worth a look so you can compare prices. Word of advise though to find your size first rather than order online and have to send it back, that is why I normally use bricks and motar.

Just saw this thread, and here is my two cents worth:

    1. http://www.northfaceoutletireland.com/ With regard to this site, I use the Web of Trust application for firefox. It warned of scams and phishing. I'd steer clear.

    2. http://www.theoutdoorshop.com/ I have used this site several times and it's good. Prices can be good in their sales. Web of Trust gives a good rating, as do online reviews.

Yeah, that domain is registered to a Cecil Paddy with a P.O. Box in the States for an address. Also, the contact e-mail addresses are with Yahoo. Not a great sign.

    Hi folks
Dont mean to hijack the thread and this might sound like a stupid question but how should you wash a north face jacket?

You are going to have to give specific details about what material(s) your jacket is made of.

Maybe an amazon.co.uk link to the type of jacket that you have.

Does it say how your jacket should be washed on the tag?
