A place to work on a car?

Hello I am looking for a place to work on car, I am not a mechanic but I want to learn about cars, and the only way to learn is by doing it.So if anybody know's of reasonable priced rental place where I could work on a car in the Clare/Limerick area as I have no garage and cannot get a car around my back.
