Please re-post if you have 299,000 km+ on the odometer. Then we can work out who on this thread has the most mileage.

    Current daily driver : 2004 Avensis D-4D 134,000 miles

Previous daily driver : Carina E TD 328,000 miles when I sold her last November, driving perfect the buyer wanted her for a daily 30 mile commute, reckoned he'd get at least 5 years out of it.

    +1M

Anyone who believes Citroen are crap doesn't know anything about mechanics or was simply unlucky. I've had 3 Xantias, series I and II. Over 500,000 miles between them. 16v Petrol and 8v diesel, TD and common rail. Never let down (badly), just a clutch clip once on a TD and a fuel lift pump on the HDi. C'est ca.

Few problems in the beginning - got better as mileage increased- new fly wheel, power steering pump,4 new brake discs, newturbo pipe and new timing belt needed.

Only 1 timing belt change in 200k km is good going. Fly wheel was a given anyway. I have heard that there was problems with the brake discs alright on the insignias... Thanks for the info though.

No. In daily use. And that included two trips down the country. So the trips added about 800 miles that I normally would not of done!

415000 km on my VW Caravelle TDI ('99) (approx 258k miles)
298000 km on the '01 BMW 525d (approx 185k miles).
    265000 km on the M5 ('99)
181000 miles on the Audi 200 Quattro ('89) (approx 291k km).

First two ones are my daily depending on task. In general, each of'em is just barely run in.

    I do about 60-100k km/year (that's approx 40-60k miles)

    /M
