Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Unlocked iPhone 4s

I was looking at the apple online store today, and see that you can buy an unlocked iPhone 4s direct from Apple - albeit at a premium price.

Now this phone uses a microsim card , which presumably could be purchased (Prepaid hopefully ) from a service provider and used as required.

However, I would intend to use the phone mainly at home with my wireless network and not be too concerned about using it for calls/texts/data downloads over a mobile network - at least for the foreseeable future.

My question is - would the phone work over a wifi network without a sim installed?

Perhaps some kind soul with an iPhone 4s and access to a wifi network could temporarily remove the sim and see if there are any problems and let me know if it works on wifi :D

Any other relevant comments also appreciated.

    Thanks

Why would you not install a sim?
They are free (PAYG) from providers.

What are you plaining on using it for?

Never mind. From looking at the small print again, it looks like I would need a sim anyway to activate the phone. Thanks for the replies.

You can pick up a pre pay sim for free to activate it.
