What do you think of that ruling from Brussels a few years back that a supermarket...

    cannot sell "deformed" vegetables, for example, if a carrot is not perfectly straight, a supermarket cannot sell it. I mean food is food isn't it?? you're gonna chop it up and eat it anyways :confused:

    It is not really relevant anymore, is it? That proposed legislation was drafted 24 years ago & was never enacted. Even the article you quote is 4 years old. Old news... :(

    Actually it was enacted(Class 1,Class 2 that you see on produce labels). It made sense at the time because of the wide variations in produce quality between countries but nowadays retailers and food companies have there own specs which more often than not exceed anything in the marketing Standards.
