Down for the Olympic in this, wave 6 lane 2. Not too sure about the weather for the weekend though, don't want to be freezing on the bike.

  • Registered Users Posts: 278 ✭✭littlemsfickle

Any idea from previous years what time wave 6 would be likely to go off at?

Looks like they have put up a new briefing booklet on the site and says wave 6 will go at 12. Gives 45 mins for each Olympic wave. Anybody else's wave constantly changing, I've moved form wave 5 lane 5 to wave 6 lane 2 now to wave 6 lane 8. Just hope I don't get left behind my everyone else in my lane!

    how did you do?

  • Registered Users Posts: 152 ✭✭Topps

great. Not sure about times yet due to the times not been up. Swim was good except for the pushing and barging in the lane. Bike was good not to many hills, wind was in your face at the way back though which made it much tougher. Run was tough had to slog that out leg were stiff and i'm not build for running. all in all it went better than I thought and hoping for 1.27-1.30. How did you get on?

Enjoyed that. Limerick Tri put on a really well run race and I hope I'll be back next year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 278 ✭✭littlemsfickle

I heard there were some issues with counting lengths in the last wave of the Olympic race. I couldn't stay for the results, does anyone know what happened with this?

You are going very well - this long slow stuff is bringing you on a tonne :D

4 minutes faster than my clubmate on the bike

Question from an interested observer. Looking at the Sprint results, the fastest Female did the 20k cycle in 21.29 mins, the average of the rest of the competitors (female) was approx 40 mins...how is that achieved?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,126 ✭✭✭Trig1

She also beat the fastest male, aaron o brien by 10mins.... reckon she turned back after a few kms or she was on a motorbike

Also when did Nenagh change it's name to Nenagh Triathalon Club?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,393 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

That has to be a mistake with that girl, her other times aren't in the ballpark either.

    That top is truly horrendous!

Loved the bike today, not sure what people were on about with the wind, nothing too bad

There was lots of spray painted signs on the road, and one I noticed in particular had a u-turn on it about 5 km out. I wonder did she mistakenly turn at that?

21.29 is pretty impressive for 40k alright :pac:
