Can someone please tell me how to get this laptop going on wifi to the eircom router?
Im obviousely not doing it right,

or is it a case of this laptop is too old and isnt wifi enabled???

Have it plugged into the modem directly now with an ethernet cable, but it leaves my PC useless............

    Please help!!!!!!:(

Just noticed in properties, it came up as a LAN/High speed Internet, but can this be wifi enabled?

google the spec on it. if it doesnt have wifi built in then it i doubt it can be enabled somehow.... why does plugging it into the modem leave your pc useless?

I was taking out the ethernet cable from the PC leaving it useless:D

Have solved that for the moment by getting a second cable but it doesn't solve the problem of having the laptop in another room, it is now stuck in the kitchen with the PC, defeating the purpose of it......

I need to enable it to wireless:(

Surely it has occurred to you to look up the spec of the laptop using the model number? (as was suggested to you by the way)

If the laptop hasnt got integrated wifi then it probably will be possible to "enable" it by buying a pcmcia card or a usb wifi dongle.

I have an old Packard Bell IGo 4450, it is not wi-fi enabled so had to get a pcmcia card from Eircom. Think it was about €40.
I may have a spare, will have root around when I get home.
