In the past I've gotten responses up to 1 or 2 months after applying. It really depends on the company.

In general, the smaller the company the quicker they will respond, but you never know if they're in a busy phase or if the hiring manager is out sick or whatever.

Personally if I haven't heard anything after about two weeks I might shoot them an e-mail or give them a ring...
